The Vatican announced on October 28th that, in preparation for the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, Japan, and the upcoming Jubilee year, they have specially designed the mascot Luce to link the Jubilee and the World Expo together.
Luce, designed in a two-dimensional style to resonate with young audiences for the Jubilee, features many symbols of pilgrims in her appearance, including a cross necklace, a missionary staff, and dusty boots from walking the pilgrimage path. The yellow raincoat pays homage to the Vatican flag, while the shell-shaped glow in her eyes symbolizes her unwavering faith.
